EPDM Rubber Material
EPDM rubber material is primarily made from high-purity ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber granules, mixed with special-purpose polyurethane adhesive, then laid and cured. It is divided into two types: on-site cast-in-place granular type and prefabricated coil type. With stable chemical and physical properties, it is the preferred paving material for outdoor venues.
Product Features
Superior Durability: Excellent weather resistance, capable of withstanding extreme temperatures ranging from -40℃ to 80℃. It is UV-resistant and anti-aging, delivering a long service life for outdoor applications without cracking, fading or chalking easily. Boasting a wear coefficient of ≤0.015, it can resist high-frequency trampling and friction, making it ideal for sports fields and children’s play areas.
High Safety Performance: With an elasticity recovery rate of ≥90% and impact absorption capacity of 20%–50%, it can effectively buffer impact forces and reduce injury risks in case of falls, complying with relevant safety standards.
Eco-Friendly & Odorless: Made from food-grade eco-friendly raw materials and certified as national green building material, it emits no pungent odor after paving. It is suitable for sensitive locations such as kindergartens and schools.
Easy Maintenance & Cleaning: Its dense, impermeable surface allows stains to be easily cleaned with water or a damp cloth. No frequent maintenance is required—only regular inspections of edge sealing are needed, reducing long-term upkeep costs.
High Customization: A wide range of granule colors is available (standard colors including red, green, blue, yellow, etc., with custom color codes supported). Intricate patterns and designs (e.g., cartoon motifs, court markings) can be created to meet the stylistic requirements of different venues.
Scope of Application
It is suitable for sports venues such as basketball courts and tennis courts (providing professional athletic elasticity to minimize sports injuries), children’s areas like kindergarten activity zones (high elasticity ensures child safety), and leisure spaces such as park walkways (slip-resistant, wear-resistant and comfortable underfoot). It is also applicable to special sites including gym strength training areas (moisture-proof and slip-resistant, adapting to various indoor and outdoor environments).
Construction Process
Substrate Preparation: Verify that the asphalt or cement concrete substrate meets the required standards (in terms of strength, flatness and a 2–4 week curing period). Repair and clean the surface to ensure it is dry (with moisture content ≤8%).
Primer Application: Apply a special EPDM bonding agent and allow it to dry at room temperature for 4–6 hours.
Rubber Granule Paving: Mix EPDM granules with adhesive in the specified ratio, then spread and compact the mixture evenly.
Curing & Maintenance: Leave the paved surface to set for 24–48 hours, with no trampling or exposure to rain allowed during this period.
Inspection & Acceptance: Check for surface flatness and freedom from delamination, then conduct performance tests before formal delivery.
